We were asked to design, manufacture and install blackout window covers for a secondary school sports hall in Stratford-upon-Avon. The original venetian blinds had been damaged by general wear and tear over the years. The school wanted a simple cost-effective blackout replacement. Attwoolls Manufacturing were invited to design a solution.
The two types of windows were accurately measured/patterned on site. The covers were designed to fit the unusual 4.5m wide x 2m high triangular and 4.5m wide x 0.7m high rectangular shaped windows. We used Velcro and TIR turnable staples to secure the blackout covers to the window frames.
We supplied and installed twenty-two blackout window covers in total. The installation went smoothly as expected and the school is now able to block out the sunlight when staging plays and events inside the sports hall.
