Both the framework and old curtains were measured on site. We produced a computer drawing to allow us to accurately cut out the curtains out on our automated cutting machine. The two 5m wide x 3.7m high curtains were made by welding two panels of fire retardant 680gsm PVC fabric together. All outside edges were reinforced with 50mm wide PVC coated webbing.
Runners were selected to suit the existing tracking; the new runners were tested inside the tracking to ensure they moved smoothly along, then bolted to the top edge of the curtain.
One side of the industrial curtain was permanently fixed to the outside steel upright post and the opposite side was free to open and close sideways. Reinforced cam buckle straps were added to keep the curtain tensioned when closed.
