We were tasked with supplying a custom canvas roof for a glamping cabin. The canvas roof needed to accurately fit the bespoke octagonal timber structure, the design relied on eight D rings and webbing straps (sewn onto each seam) to tension the roof, these fixing points needed to align with the timber rafters. We went to site to take precise measurements to achieve this. We added on a canvas shrinkage allowance (canvas can shrink by up to 3% due weathering) and the roof was manufactured in white 407gsm polyester/cotton canvas at our factory in Gloucestershire.
The result offers the functionality the customer needed, the canvas fabric breathable and will regulate condensation, making it the ideal material choice for glamping cabin roofs.
